Our Location - The Atherton Tablelands

The Blue House is conveniently located in a quiet street in Yungaburra, yet is close to restaurants, shops and wildlife walks. Yungaburra is in the heart of the Atherton Tablelands and is a major meeting point for artists and musicians, with several art and craft galleries and displays. Yungaburra has outstanding restaurants, all making the most of its idyllic position in the tropical farming community of the Atherton Tablelands.

Every weekend, there are local produce markets on the Tablelands. On the morning of the 4th Saturday of every month, it is the famous Yungaburra Market. This is a large and popular market, selling everything you could imagine from fresh local produce to jams, clothing and homemade furniture.

Once a year (usually the fourth weekend in October), residents and visitors alike are treated to a spectacular weekend of folk, blues, jazz and variety entertainment at the Tablelands Folk Festival. The village comes alive with world class entertainment in a number of fabulous venues, as well as some wonderful street events. Well worth making the effort to get here – but you need to book accommodation in advance!

The Atherton Tablelands is home to some of the World Heritage listed rainforests of the Wet Tropics, national parks, mountains, rivers, lakes and waterfalls. It is also rated as one of the richest agricultural areas in Australia. If you enjoy bush walking, mountain biking, bird watching, wildlife tours, water skiing, fishing, or just touring around and enjoying the scenery, the Atherton Tablelands has so much to offer you.

For the food and wine lovers, enjoy the bounty of fabulous local produce including coffee, tea, cheese, wines (including fruit wines), nuts and of course tropical fruits.
